When to go

Foam has no permanent collection: several temporary exhibitions run at once. In autumn 2026 the museum shows "The edge of things", a Nadav Kander retrospective, until 31 January 2027. On Thursday and Friday it closes at 21:00, which makes a good evening plan after dinner; on weekdays at 10:00 the rooms are quieter.

Our pick

  • You keep all your tickets in one app: the Tiqets ticket in the box. Check the date twice, it is not refundable.
  • Your plans are uncertain: buy on Foam's own site, where walk-ins are also welcome.
  • You hold a Museumkaart: pay nothing, entry is free with it.

Foam is at Keizersgracht 609, five minutes from Vijzelgracht metro: see the Foam page for practical details. The patrician house of the Van Loon Museum is across the canal, and our best museums in Amsterdam has more ideas.
