What you visit

A national monument: a clandestine Catholic church built in the 17th century under the roof of a merchant's house, when public Catholic worship was banned. Allow 50 minutes to 1.5 hours. The stairs are narrow and steep: the museum is not accessible by wheelchair or with a pushchair.

Hours

Open daily 10:00 to 18:00; on the first Sunday of the month, September to June, it opens only at 11:00. Closed on 25 December and 27 April.

Our pick

  • You want flexibility: the Tiqets ticket, cancellable up to 24 hours before.
  • You hold a Museumkaart: entry is free, but booking a ticket is still required.
  • You prefer the official price: EUR 18 on the museum's site.

Book as soon as your date is fixed; groups fill the narrow stairs fast, which is why 10:00 is worth it. The museum is five minutes' walk from Amsterdam Centraal and two from the Oude Kerk. The full visit is described on the Our Lord in the Attic page.
