The options compared

The palace usually opens at 10:00 on more than 230 days in 2026. Its calendar, published six months ahead, lists the open days: when we read it on 30 October 2026 the site showed the palace as closed at that moment.

Official or Tiqets: what really differs

Both give entry and an audio guide; the official price is the lowest shown, and the difference is mostly convenience. Tiqets helps if all your tickets live in one app, but like the official ticket it is not refundable: if the palace closes for a state visit, changing it is not guaranteed. Book once the date is confirmed on the calendar.

Nieuwe Kerk and visit length

Allow about an hour (Throne Room, Moses Room, Empire furniture). The Nieuwe Kerk is next door but has its own ticket: we found no combined ticket on the palace site. The palace fills one side of Dam Square; full page: Royal Palace.

When a guided tour is worth it

The official guided tours are for groups only (EUR 105 on weekdays, EUR 135 at weekends, entry extra). For everyone else, the audio guide is enough.
