Madurodam: the Netherlands in miniature in The Hague, tickets and how to get there from Amsterdam
Madurodam is a 1:25 scale miniature park that gathers the monuments, cities and landscapes of the Netherlands: Amsterdam's canals, the port of Rotterdam, the Cube Houses, windmills and polders. It is in The Hague (Den Haag), on the tram line to Scheveningen, and you reach it from Amsterdam by train and then tram. The park is open 365 days a year, rain or shine, because it also has indoor attractions. Allow two to three hours for a visit.
Highlights

The Netherlands in models
Famous buildings, from the canals of Amsterdam to the Cube Houses of Rotterdam, are reproduced with bicycles, barges and many figurines. It is a good way to spot in an hour the places you have visited or will visit; families can hunt for the hidden details.

The indoor attractions
The official site presents several indoor experiences: "The Flying Dutchman" (a show), "The Dutch Masters" (an interactive game about painting) and "New Amsterdam" (a show with a cannon). They let you visit the park even in the rain.

The story of the place
The park opened in 1952 and is named after George Maduro, a young Dutch resistance fighter who died in Dachau camp in 1945. For more on the war years, see our guide to World War II in Amsterdam.
Billets et horaires
Tickets are sold online on the official site, at a discount compared with the ticket office: expect roughly €22.50 to €24.50 per adult and €17.50 to €19.50 for ages 3 to 11 (2026 online prices found on a third-party site, to be checked before you buy), free under 3.
