What the ticket includes
The ticket gives access to the interactive exhibitions: how science works, everyday technology, from atom to planet, the human body, with demonstrations and workshops. Each ticket has an entry time, but you can stay until closing. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5:30pm and, according to its website, on some holiday Mondays and public holidays. Details are on our NEMO Science Museum page.
Tiqets or GetYourGuide?
We could not read the price on the Tiqets listing: it appears at booking. Compare it with the official ticket shop and the GetYourGuide listing for NEMO for your date, with the time slot and the cancellation terms. The Museumkaart, the I amsterdam City Card and the Stadspas give free entry, but you must also book a time slot.
What age is it for?
Some activities are for ages 6 and up, and children under 13 must be accompanied. Extra activities run during school holidays. For more family ideas, read Amsterdam with children.
Pitfalls
- The time slot. The desk only sells places still available on the day: book online.
- Mondays. The museum is closed, except in holidays and on public holidays.
- Luggage. Lockers take a 50-cent coin and suitcases are not allowed.
- Museumnacht. On 7 November the museum takes part in the museum night from 7pm to 2am: read Museumnacht.
Which option should you choose?
- A family: the online ticket, on a weekday after 2pm outside holidays.
- A tight budget: the free rooftop.
- Museumkaart or City Card: a free ticket with a time slot.
