What the ticket includes
The exhibition ticket opens the permanent exhibition "What is Film?" and the temporary exhibitions, with projection booths, a green screen and an animation workshop. In October the EYE was showing "Ulrich Seidl – Über das Leben, die Liebe und den Tod", until 31 January 2027. A cinema ticket also gives access to the permanent exhibition. The ticket shop lists slightly higher cinema prices from 20 October: check the price on your day. Details are on our EYE Filmmuseum page.
Tiqets or the official website?
We could not read the price on the Tiqets listing: it appears at booking. Compare it with the official €16.50, and check whether the ticket covers the exhibition or a screening. Students, under-18s and Museumkaart holders should go through the museum, as entry is free or reduced.
Is a combo worth it?
There is no official combo: pair the visit with the A'DAM Lookout, a few steps away, for a half-day north of the IJ. Between two exhibitions, galleries close while the next is installed: check the programme before you come.
Pitfalls
- Mondays. Exhibitions are closed, except in school holidays; the box office is open 6pm to 10pm.
- The ferry. The free F3 ferry leaves from the IJ-side exit of Central Station, a crossing of under five minutes.
- 27 April. The museum is closed for King's Day.
- Evening hours. The restaurant stays open until midnight.
Which option should you choose?
- An exhibition: the €16.50 ticket, on a weekday in the late morning.
- A film: a screening, with access to the permanent exhibition.
- A rainy day: the EYE is a good indoor plan.
