- The Amsterdam Dungeon adapts its tour, performed by actors, with special scenes.
- Outside the city, the Walibi Holland theme park runs its Halloween days and nights.
By day: family activities
Kids' costume ball
The Kids' Halloween Costume Ball 2026 takes place on Saturday 31 October from 3pm to 6pm at De Nieuwe Anita, with face painting, music, spooky cake and sweets to hunt for. Entry is €5.
The Amsterdam Dungeon

The Amsterdam Dungeon is a theatrical tour in which actors tell the dark past of the city. For Halloween, two scenes of the regular tour are replaced by a special episode. Tickets start at €25 and dates and times vary by day. The tour is for ages 10 and over, with sudden scares: better suited to teenagers and adults, and best avoided for sensitive children.
Walibi Holland (outside the city)
The Walibi Holland theme park, in Biddinghuizen in Flevoland, holds its Halloween Spooky Days on 14, 15, 19, 20 and 21 October 2026, a daytime version designed for ages 6 to 12. The scarier evenings, the Halloween Fright Nights, are for an older audience; the 2026 dates were not confirmed in our sources, so check the park's official website before planning the trip. Allow a full day and a journey from Amsterdam.

The Halloween weekend in Amsterdam

On the weekend of 31 October, the IJ-Hallen also hold their flea market at the NDSM, on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, from 9am to 4:30pm: see the page on NDSM Amsterdam-Noord. The same weekend, the STRAAT museum, in the neighbouring former shipyard, is a good daytime outing. For broader seasonal themes, see our guide to Amsterdam in autumn.
Practical tips
- Book online: parties, the Dungeon and immersive experiences fill up fast on 31 October.
- Check the minimum age: most parties are for adults only; check each event's age limit before buying.
- Dress for autumn: at the end of October it is cool and damp, and it often rains. A costume goes under a waterproof coat.
- Get home safely: night transport is less frequent than by day; plan your return before going out.
- Watch for pickpockets in night-time crowds: keep your phone and wallet in inside pockets.
