Crowds and prices in June
June is high season: museums are packed, especially at weekends, and hotel prices stay high. Book tickets ahead (booking tickets in Amsterdam). Go early for museums and keep the long evenings for the parks, canals and terraces. To estimate your spending, see the Amsterdam travel budget.
June 2027 events
Holland Festival: 3 to 27 June
The Holland Festival, a major international festival of theatre, dance, opera and music, holds its 80th edition in 2027 from Thursday 3 to Sunday 27 June, in several venues across the city such as the Muziekgebouw. The full programme had not been published in October 2026: check the festival's website; some shows have English surtitles.
Amsterdam Open Air
This electronic music festival takes place in the Gaasperpark, in the south-east of the city, usually on the first weekend of June; the 2026 edition ran on 6 and 7 June. The 2027 dates were not confirmed in October 2026. Tickets are paid.
Open-air theatre in the Vondelpark

Canal gardens open to visitors
Every June, the Open Tuinendagen (Open Garden Days) open canal-house gardens that are usually closed to the public. The 2027 dates were not confirmed in October 2026: check them on the official site. Meanwhile, visit the gardens of the Willet-Holthuysen house or the Van Loon Museum, and see the canal houses to visit.

- A raincoat: showers remain frequent.
- Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for the long days.
- Comfortable shoes and, if needed, a sturdy lock for your bike.

- Parks: Vondelpark, Westerpark, parks and gardens.
- The water: a canal cruise and the beaches near Amsterdam.
- The views: the panoramic views of Amsterdam at sunset, very late.
