Kalverstraat: Amsterdam's pedestrian shopping street

Updated on October 26, 2026

The Kalverstraat is the main pedestrian shopping street in central Amsterdam, between Dam Square and the Muntplein, near the Munttoren. It is mostly international brands, fashion chains and souvenir shops. The street is free to enter all year and very busy, especially on Saturdays. For more original shops, prefer the Nine Streets.
